Angie Cope's mailart has arrived!

It is quite odd getting word that mailart has arrived and not to see the image... Just think how excited we will all be when the catalogue of all the work from the show is put together!  Thank you Angie.  I'll post images when we overcome the technological hitches an island can throw up!

Why Cranberry Island?

I was asked by one of the mail artists contributing what my relationship with Cranberry Island is... I grew up in NYC and spent summers (and other holidays) on Great Cranberry Island. I have been an expatriate living in various countries, and have spent the years since 2000 in England.  Although I think of myself as a New Yorker, Cranberry Island is my American home now and I spend some time every summer there with my wonderful family - four Guyvers, ten Mosses, and four Kehoes. The island is an inspiring community that has shaped who I am.  This mailart exhibit is one way of bringing some of my worlds together!

Mailart from Brussels has arrived on Cranberry Island!

Exciting news from Cranberry Island that two pieces of mailart have arrived from Bernd Reichert!  When I get the scans from my mailart helper I will post them!

My fellow mailartist (Jan Moss) who is on Cranberry island now tells me that Chris' first piece of mailart has arrived safely from Brisbane and that it is beautiful.  I received mailart from Katerina (Greece) for the Island Mailart exhibition - LOVELY - which I am forwarding on and will post here soon. Thank you both!

Mailart from Christine Jones on its way!

This piece of flood art is on its way from Australia to America!  Christine says Coochiemudlo Island is just east of Brisbane.  'We had a holiday house there for many years and this is the sign that greets you (or rather, used to - haven't been over for a while ) most of the roads were dirt!'

Island mailart has arrived!
Cara Harrison from Huntsville Alabama writes:
"The Great Cranberry Islands sounds a wonderfully undiscovered spot for mailarting.
I hope you have a wonderful exhibition on Islands."
